Okay, so Union has basically been picked for a while and the property is well known. Only problem is how much disruption to classes will there be. Auburn's new school is also going to be "next door", so it must not be as bad as some ppl. think.

Also, BSG & Coeburn kids will end up not moving, while Wise kids might... that'll probably ruffle some feathers.

It's not like they have no idea where they are going to build it, from what I was told it's between a couple of area's, one basically like Unions would be - right behind it- and where the central office is...more than likely it's not going to be anywhere but a stones throw from where it is now either way.

I would bet my last dollar, it will be where the Central Office is. Wait and see.

Sounds like a good reason to bust the county taxpayers for a new office, too.

Or they could just use the current HS building like they will likely do.

It would still cost the tax payers, because they would have to renovate it, before it could be used as the central office.

Some parts would have to be renovated, but the entire high school wouldn't be and the costs wouldn't be some astronomical figure. They would untilize existing buildings before slapping up a new office if possible. That's all considering they even put it in the central office spot, it might be where the football field is for all we know, that will come out in the coming months...we'll probably have a good idea of what they're likely to do after monday's meeting with the BOS.

So the school that isn't worth renovating is now worth fixing? The "office" will never get a "hand-me-down".

Big difference in redoing a few rooms for a small staff, as opposed to tens of millions to upgrade everything for the entire schools that thousands of kids will be using and abusing for the next 50 years - all while having to renovate several times again during that time.
